2020

Dear Students,

I am happy to connect with you, again, through this communication. Hope you and your family are safe
and in good health. Please recall that I had written to you on 24th May with a tentative May - July 2020
Academic schedule. While the pandemic has resulted in the extended lockdown periods, our response to
that should be fighting the corona with hygiene measures and building our personal strengths in all
respects.

Academic Calendar

Though there has been continuous progress and updates from the Government bodies regarding the
scheduling of classes and examinations, you may know that UGC and AICTE have come up with a revised
academic calendar, recently. We will be releasing the Academic Calendar shortly as we await more details
from the University and State Government. We have requested the University through the official
communication to allow us to conduct the Examinations (ESE) and we are yet to receive the response.

Kumaraguru Action for Relief and Empowerment - Social Outreach

Kumaragru Institutions, with the help of students, faculty members, and other stakeholders has been
extending the support to the lockdown affected areas and help the people through various support
services. So far, through KARE we have distributed 40000+ meals, 2500+ masks, 1200 litres of Hand
Sanitiser, the team has helped farmers to get a reasonable price for their produce, offering online
counseling, and so on. Our KARE Volunteers have clocked 2259+ volunteering hours. In this process, we
were able to help the people in the districts of Coimbatore, Erode, and Tirupur, impacting 57000+ lives.
Our NCC Volunteers are supporting the Tamil Nadu Police as per the request made by the District
Collectorate. Let us appreciate them and I also request you to join hands with the KARE team to render
your services.

Student Engagement

The HoDs and Faculty Members of Departments have been in constant touch with you for curricular and
co-curricular activities. I am very happy that you along with the faculty members are organizing, engaging
yourselves on a daily basis through the events of the Department Associations, Clubs and Forms. You also
might know that the batch of 2017 -21 is taking their online placement training every day including
assessments. Best wishes to them!
The New Future

Most of the faculty members are pursuing various courses to upskill themselves, upgrade the course
contents, and to provide a New Experience to all the students in the New Academic Year 2020-21. I also
want to tell you that under “Project Germinate”, a task force of faculty along with students are working
continuously to give you a different kind of learning experience with productive engagement strategies
including e-Mentoring, Peer Learning, online value-added courses, and through many more initiatives,
thereby connecting KCT Community, back to vibrant mode. In this regard, I expect a strong will power
and commitment from KCTians to come forward, participate, and experience The New Normal and surge
ahead of many, in this sphere.

Student’s Meeting

In this regard, a year wise – department wise students meeting has been planned (for the batches of
2017 - 21, 2018 - 22 and 2019 - 23) on 16th and 17th July 2020. The agenda of the meeting is attached. The
meeting will be through Microsoft Teams. You will receive the meeting link indicating the date and time
of meeting from your Class Advisor/Mentor. We are also planning for a virtual meeting for parents, for
which we will send a communication shortly.

Assuring our best support always, I once again remind you to “Stay Home, Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, and
continue to Learn” and as always, you may connect with me through my official email id for any
clarifications and suggestions.
