The mind-sets of an entrepreneur that I am having trouble or difficulty to improve that I need for my

future employment or business that I will put up someday are both tolerance of ambiguity and drive to
achieve. In terms of tolerance of ambiguity most the time when I have family problems, academic
struggles, failures or a break-up, I tend lose focus of the things around me, I get really down and stress
about it that it makes me lose control of my life just because of that kind of issue. Entrepreneur that has
a tolerance of ambiguity mind-set doesn’t let any setbacks interfere with what he wants to achieve,
giving him/her more time to prepare in achieving his/her goal. The second is drive to achieve. Through
the process of achieving a goal sometimes my drive just vanishes. I tend to slack off a lot; I get happy just
by passing the course and not really exceeding my personal standard in terms of my academics.
Sometimes I just say “it’s up to batman” and just laugh when I fail. My drive to study as of now is
nowhere to be found. An entrepreneur has an unwavering drive to achieve his/her goal, he excel and
surpasses his/her own expectation about him/herself.

But even though I have mind-sets that I need to improve I also have mind-sets of an entrepreneur that I
can flourish more. When I’m doing something new or I’m not really good at I always ask for feedbacks to
know if there are things to change or improve. I learned this because of my love for cooking, cooking has
different techniques, and cuisines have different ways of cooking and different ingredients depending on
the chef that made the recipe. So you really need feedbacks from your friends and family. This
characteristic of mine correlates with an entrepreneurial mind-set, seeking feedback. Another thing,
because of my love for food and cooking, I tend to make my own recipes of food that I really like, I
experiment and let my creativity come out especially when I’m plating my food. And sometimes not
every ingredient is found in our home so when I don’t have an ingredient I innovate, I try to find things
that can be a replacement for the missing ingredient. And this characteristic also correlates with an
entrepreneurial mind-set, creativity and innovativeness.

In assessing my characteristic and comparing it to an entrepreneurial mind-set, I think I have a long way
to go. I have many things to improve at, I have many things to learn and change in my character as a
student, future entrepreneur and as an individual. Becoming a true entrepreneur is really hard and a lot
of work and practice is need and in my status now, I’m not even near to their characteristics. But I will
learn and try harder to become one of them.
