II. PROCEDURE

STAGE ACTIVITIES
PRE-READING ACTIVITIES

Firstly the teacher comes to the class and tells students to make to think about if
they know any story to share with their students. Then he or she gives them some
time to do it individually without discussing it with other students. Later students
are divided into 5 groups and discuss their answers with their friends by reading all
of their answers together. Then, the teacher says they will read a short story
together, but firstly she or he shows some photos and wants students to guess the
topic of the story by looking these pictures. Then she or he hangs them on the
blackboard.

WHILE-READING ACTIVITIES

The teacher wants students to listen to the story and try to understand what is going
on in the story. He or she says that they don't need to understand every detail of the
story. They just should listen to this story for general view. Then he or she
distributes the stories to the

students and this time wants the students to read the story silently and then they read
it one more time by listening to the story at the same time. So they can understand
which parts that they missed. After reading he teacher asks some questions to the
students about the story. They answer the questions by paraphrasing each part of the
story.

POST-READING ACTIVITIES

The teacher says that they will play a game which is called as True or False. The
class is divided into two groups. The teacher says he will say some sentences about
the story and wants them to say that if it is true or false. He or she will ask a
question and gives one minute to both groups. Then they write the answer on a
paper and show it to the teacher. It continues like that.

At the end of the class, the teacher says that they play a puzzle game together. They
will try to complete a picture from the story. However, only one person can play this
game at the same time. So the teacher says the other students will draw the picture
of the story which they learned before. So other students will also be busy until their
turn come.
