(Three Major Eras of Dance)

PREHISTORIC PERIOD

During the Prehistoric Period, people perform dance as a form of ritual for their illnesses to be taken
away, for their rulers to win battles and for them to simply communicate since other forms of
communication were not yet discovered during this stage. The climax of this era for me is when the
minds and bodies of ancient people coordinate to create a dance that will connect them to each other.
ANCIENT CIVILIZATION

During the Ancient Civilization, people used dance for entertainment and to express their religions,
especially the royals and nobles. The climax in this era is when culture becomes the basis for a good
dance and anyone in this era can express their own emotions in accordance with their own beliefs
and traditions. People in this era dance for social and entertainment purposes.
MIDDLE AGES AND RENAISSANCE

During the Middle Ages and Renaissance, dances are most likely to be performed when there is a
celebratory event and if there is need for entertainment between groups of people. The climax in this
era is purely the amusement of people when their bodies coordinate for performance. During this era,
a dance is purely a way to show their manners and as a form of celebration.
