Stranger Things

The TV programme I’m writing about is a show called Stranger Things. It is an American science-
fiction horror television show created by the Duffer Brothers for Netflix. It premiered on Netflix on
July 15, 2016. The cast includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown,
Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton, as well as many
more.

It's set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the United States. The first season
focuses on the disappearance of Will Byers in the usually quiet town, and during the investigation,
the main characters are faced with supernatural events (such as a monster from a different
dimension which is a mirror of their own) and a girl with psychokinetic abilities called Eleven. The
second season focuses on the side effects that Will has after returning from the Upside Down (the
mirror dimension) with him turning into a spy for the Mindflayer (another monster) and involuntarily
helping his army to invade Hawkins. The third season focuses on Mike and Eleven's relationship as
the kids continue to fight the beings from the Upside Down while a group of communist scientists
makes it harder for them.

I like the horror and sci-fi aspects of this show the most. The monsters the characters fight are in
equal parts scary and interesting and I think the writers did a great job coming up with them (granted
they did use the names the concept of the Mindflayer from Dungeons and Dragons). The writing of
the show is great, and I can't wait for the next season.
