Teaching English in an age of globalization is a real challenge for every teacher.
I always had the
idea that most of the teachers are natural born teachers – teachers that understand and feel the needs of their students. But as a student and in the near future a teacher, I see that those natural born teachers are rare and we all have to learn a lot to become the teacher we always wanted to have in our lives. I like, for example, my body language and attitude I have during the classes. I have a very good approach to the syllabus; I am tolerant, patient and positive during the lessons. I think I have to work on my voice pitch, as most of the students notice that I am calm and I speak clearly but it isn’t loud enough – as in some situations this wasn’t very productive. Also, as a future teacher, I should spend more time to work on my techniques of engaging students and making them better learners. The effectiveness of the education system starts and ends with the ability of the teacher to reach to his/her students. That’s why as teachers we always have to look forward and be eager learners for the rest of our lives. We should build relationships with our students and be able to implement new teaching techniques and technology every time we can.
