Whereas pursuant to RA'7925.and its Implementing Rules and: Regulations, specifically Rule 600 of MC 8-9-95, the radio spectrum allocation-and assignment shall be subject _to review in the interest of public service thereby ensuring wider access to the. limited radio spectrum and the use of cost effective technology. Whereas the Commission is in» receipt of numerous. applications for WLL technologies and in order to support the implementation of emerging technologies in information and communication and accommodate the demand for WLL in unserved and underserved areas, there is a need to allocate additional frequencies for WLL technologies using paired frequencies. Wherefore, in the — interest of “Seiviee, the Commission hereby allocates 1900-1910 / 1980-1990 MHz to the Witeless Local Loop (WLL) band in addition to that provided under MC 01-01-97. ‘The above additional allocation is subject to the following: 1. Only type approved/accepted ‘radio equipment shall be allowed to operate under the above band. 2. Assignment is. subject to availability of frequencies and ona non-interference basis. 3. The above allocated radiofrequency spectrum for WLL shall be for fixed local telephone use only and shall not be used for mobile'services. This circular may be revised, revoked or: amended as may~ be. necessary and shall take effect fifteen (15) days after publication in a “newspaper of general circulation and three (3) certified’ coples furnished the UP Law Center.
