Deciding the method of assigning properties to line before modelling

In PDS we enter line properties such as temperature, pressure, PMS, insulation etc.
manually but PDS also provides for the facility of picking line properties from linelist. It also
gives an interface to reference line properties from nte file (a specialized database in text
format) in isometric extraction.
Problem
In the beginning of the project we had the knowledge of this feature but we never imagined
to use this feature in advance format that nte file can be produced from process linelist.
Actually, we didn’t know the capability of a well-known software MS Excel.
Application in SAP-C
In SAP-C, we can’t feed linelist data to PDS because, it can only be referenced when no
piping model has been created. And we came to know about this feature when a large part
of modelling was done. But we implemented this method in isometric extraction.
For Future Projects
Now we can use linelist data to feed line properties directly to PDS. It’s only possible before
the creation of piping model.
