WHat makes a story?
● PLOT: the sequence of events that make up a story
○ The tells the story- how the story develops, unfolds, and moves in time
Key Plot Details:
● Key aspects that make a plot are characters, settings,
and major events
● Characters: The “Who”
○ A character is a person, animal, being, creature, or thing in a
story. Writers use characters to perform the actions and speak
dialogue, moving the story along a plot line.
● Setting: The “Where”
○ Setting is the time and place (or when and where) of the story
● Events and Actions: The “What”
○ The things that happen in a story.
○ events that occur throughout the story that impact the characters in
a big way
