In giving my legal advice to my client, I will be upfront to him regarding the merits of the
case. I will make sure that I am honest about the possibilities on how the case will turn out and I
will provide him the options available to him granted by the relevant statutes, rules and
jurisprudence.
I will inform him that our laws and jurisprudence usually favor the mother in granting
custody to children below 7 years old. This is one example on how I would be able to fully
inform him of how he stands in the custody case that he wants to pursue.
In doing this, I will keep in mind to be empathetic to my client, putting myself in his
shoes and making him feel that I actually care about him and that I am mindful of his cause.
I will make sure that I gather all the information needed in order to give him the best
advice I could. I will elicit the relevant facts and I will be very diligent in providing him the legal
