Establishing Classroom Atmosphere

In my classroom the students and I will come ready to learn and attack the day head on. I will have
everything ready for the lesson, so all that the students will have to do is bring a positive attitude to the
classroom.

Protocols

Establishing Rules

To establish rules in the classroom I will have rules posted all over the gym and locker rooms so that
students can go and read them. Also I will go over rules with them before every new unit to ensure that
they are understood.

Rules

Rule Definition

1. Effort Effort is doing your absolute best and being active

and participating

2. Respect Treat others and the equipment how you would

want to be treated
3. Dress appropriately Wear clothes that are not going to restrict you from
participating

4. Teamwork Work together as a class and be helpful and

participate

Consequences

Students will be given 3 strikes if they reach their 3 rd strike, they will be unable to participate in that days
activities.

Fighting

Fighting will not be tolerated, if a fight were to happen the students will immediately be sent to the
office to find their consequences. If there is a disagreement between students I will help resolve the
issue, by talking with them to get to the bottom of it.

Routines

Starting and stopping

When students enter the classroom, they will first read what our activity will be on the whiteboard
before entering the gym. Students will then stand on their spots and do our routine stretches. Then after
our warmup they will sit on their spot while I give the instruction for the class period. At the end of the
class students will stop the activity and bring back any equipment that may been used. Then they will go
back to the locker room and change back into what they wore before class then come back in the gym
and sit at their spots until the bell has dismissed them.

Entering and leaving

Students will enter the gym from the locker room after they have changed into the appropriate attire for
PE. Students at the end of class will exit through gym after getting dressed after the class.

Equipment

Equipment provided by the teacher, if there is any equipment required the for the lesson it will be put
out beforehand.

Partner and group work

Groups and partners will be decided by teacher, sometimes students will be allowed to pick their
partner or group.

Water and Bathroom breaks

Water breaks will be allowed water breaks at any time. Also, bathroom breaks will also be allowed
anytime, If our lessons require us to be outside students will have to have a buddy to be able to go to
the bathroom.

Recurring Issues

If there are recurring issues, school administration and parents/legal guardians may have to be brought
in to develop a plan to stop the problem.
