540 Diploma Interactive Media-Film and Photography

Brief: Project 1
Produce a carefully planned brief with a clear structure showing a time plan, and
recognition of deadlines.

In project one I will be working on a mixture of Photography and film.

I am interested in this because I would like to develop my skills in film making.
The theme I will be working towards is an exploration of the change in season.
As it is autumn I want to photograph and film landscapes and nature to
document their changes to create dynamic and well-executed outcomes.

I will develop my ideas with Microsoft PowerPoint. I will produce Mind maps for
planning each outcome and will use mood boards as inspiration. These image
and video references will be sourced from Pinterest or YouTube. As part of my
research, I will look at locations to shoot in learn how to shoot outside and see if
I need any props to enhance my work.

I will also examine autumnal symbolism I could use, film inspiration and
different edits and techniques to use on short films.

The samples I will be producing will be screen shots or a shortened video

version of the films I will produce. The samples may show a range of different
colour adaptations or effects. I will use these to see what worked well and what
didn’t work well so I can improve the errors.

I will make a list and plan the techniques I would like to experiment with e.g.,
slow motion, and any materials I may use.

I will manage my project by making a timetable which will organise when I will
be working on specific aspects of my project e.g., when I will film, when I will edit
etc. I will also make sure to evaluate my work to make sure my work improves
progressively as the project continues.

The target audience would be people interested in landscape and autumnal

photography. For some of my outcomes I may edit them to be advertisements for
organisations like the national trust.

The expected outcome will be at least four video outcomes, as it will take me
longer to make a high-quality film than a photoshoot. The photo outcomes I may
produce will come from the same shoots as the film outcomes.

The expected costs may come from equipment and fees from travel to a
landscape location I will make an estimation of how much each shoot may cost
when doing my research and planning.
