Climate for Chilli to Grow

Chilli is a tropical and sub-tropical plant that requires a blend of warm, humid or dry
weather. At the growing stage, it requires a warm and humid weather. Nevertheless, a dry
weather is quite good for fruit maturity. Temperature between 20⁰ to 25⁰C is perfect for
the growth of Chilli. The maximum temperature is 36°C and the minimum temperature is
16°C. Full sun will bring the best performance from the Chilli, and the chillies will have the
best flavor. To reach maximum growth chillies need plenty of warmth. January and
February are the perfect months to start sowing Chilli pepper seeds indoors. Although you
can still sow the seeds right up until the end of March, early sowing gives your chillies
plenty of time to ripen before the end of summer.

Climate for Tomato to Grow

Tomato is a warm season crop. The best fruit colour and quality is obtained at a
temperature range of 21-24°C. Temperature above 32oC adversely affects the fruit set and
development. The plants cannot withstand frost and high humidity. Tomatoes need 3 to 4
months of warm, clear dry weather to produce best. Tomatoes can tolerate a night time
temperature falling to 13.5°C but if the daytime temperature falls below 15°C for a week or
more, growth will be stunted at best and crops reduced. If night time temperatures drop
below 13.5°C, pollen fails to develop and flowers that open the following morning will not
set fruit. If growing in cloches or other shelter outdoors, the soil temperature should be
over 12.5°C, although warmer is better.

Climate for Ladies Finger to Grow

Lady finger requires warm climate because it cannot bear cold climatic conditions. It
requires temperature range of 22-35°c for its best growth. Seeds are unable to germinate
when the temperature is below 20°c. Lady finger cannot tolerate the temperature above
40°c. Ladies finger plant grows well in full sun and thrives well in a temperature range of
25 to 35 degrees. Seeds take 5 to 6 days to germinate; vegetable takes 55 to 65 days to
mature.  Though summer is the best season to grow ladies finger, it makes a good winter
crop too. Seeds can be grown indoors and can be transplanted outside when it is sunny
during the day. If the temperature drops below 15 degrees during the night, the entire crop
can be prone to cold injury.

Climate for Potato to Grow

Growing potatoes requires cool climate. Potatoes grow best in temperature of 15-20°c.
It grows best in well-drained, loose soil that is about 45° to 55°F (7° to 13°C). Choose a
location that gets full sun—at least 6 hours of sunlight each day. This means that the potato
growing season will vary depending on your climate: In cool-weather climates: If your area
has cold winters and mild summers, plant potatoes just after the last frost date. In colder
climatic conditions, potatoes should be planted after frost and before the end of spring. If
their growing conditions are hotter, they can just harvest the tubers a little earlier before
the temperature becomes too high for the potato crop. If we do not harvest, then heat
stress will damage the tubers and seriously reduce yields and quality.

Climate for Carrot to Grow

Carrots are grown year-round, but if the climate is too hot, the carrots might not grow as
large, also causes increased bitterness, and decreased sweetness. Growing carrots in the
shadier, cooler part of the farm is critical for bringing them successfully through the heat.
In India, carrots are best grown in the winter season, and seeds should be sown
from October-November; they can also be grown during monsoon. It also grows in cool
temperatures of early spring and late fall. The optimum temperature for its growth
is between 16 to 20 °C. The temperature lower than 16 °C affects the development of
colour. The temperature between 15 to 20 °C is better for developing attractive roots with
excellent red colour and quality. Carrots are mostly used as a vegetable in India.
