Caculo Cabaca – Cambutas Line is a 400kV overhead line with a length of 54km from Caculo
Cabaca Hydropower Plant, Cuanza Norte, Angola, to Cambutas, Kwanza North, Angola.

The project, which is currently under construction, is expected to be commissioned in 2025.

Description

Caculo Cabaca – Cambutas Line is an overhead line that will be operated by Rede Nacional
de Transporte de Electricidade. The line will carry alternating current (AC) through double
circuit cable.

Approximately $52.9m was financed by the authorities to undertake the construction works of
the project.

The development of the Caculo Cabaca – Cambutas Line project has been approved by the
Institute for Electricity Regulation.

Caculo Cabaca – Cambutas Line project development status

The construction works on the Caculo Cabaca – Cambutas Line project were commenced in
2018 and commissioning is expected in 2025.
