Interpersonal communication at work –

video transcript
ACTOR A: So how’s the Christmas in July launch of the Android 2.0 campaign going?

ACTOR B responds while ACTOR A listens attentively and is engaged: Really well. We’ve mapped out the main
timeframes and ideas for each piece of content that going to be launched and yeah, hopefully generate some good
winter sales.

ACTOR A asks questions to gain further understanding: Yeah look that is great to hear. If you don’t mind
sharing, tell me a bit more about your team’s plans.

ACTOR B goes into more detail: So we’re going be to be launching a content piece every week and each piece will
highlight different aspects of the new Android 2.0. Jim and Carey will produce the first two pieces and then Brian
and Caitlin will deliver the next two. We’re hoping to break into the early adopter’s market.

ACTOR A summarises what he has heard: It’s really interesting to hear that because I really want to commend
you, I really like the fact that you’ve identified the right people to help you with this campaign. So well done to you.

ACTOR B confirms: Thank you, yeah we’re pretty excited. And how’s the Spring Carnival launch?

ACTOR A begins an elaborate response while ACTOR B is distracted and is not paying attention to ACTOR A.

ACTOR A appears annoyed: So we’ve pitched it to our client and received great feedback. I just got word today that
we’ve won the pitch so it’ll be full steam ahead for the production team. I’m looking forward to it.

Actor B pauses before replying: I’m sure it will…

ACTOR A: Anyway, I better get back to work and help out the team. See you later.

ACTOR A walks off.

ACTOR B appears confused and says: Oh, ok then. I’ll see you later!
