What did you learn and what are you going to reflect on?

In this paper, I have learned that  a type AF-BLDC has been applied in the medical
field. It is amazing to know that these machine are in milli-meter scale and yet it can
perform desirable mechanism in medical to revive patients with heart issues. The
machine is design with a magnetic levitation (using magnetic bearings in the shaft)
and non-magnetic levitation. This study shows that the machine with maglev obtain
2% less electromagnetic torque on the shaft compared to non-maglev. This means
that the shaft can experience lesser friction loss. I think this would also mean that
shaft have zero stress. Because of this design, I also think maglev can be effective to
prolong the rotation of the rotor assuming the machine is operating in vaccum
chamber or environment. If the rotor will be utilized as flywheel provided with the
geometry of its permanent and core structure, the flywheel can easily attain high
speed and longer discharge rate during the machine operation. also, the maglev can
reduce to zero rotational loss on the shaft during standby mode.

It is stated in the paper that Halbach arrangements of rotor magnets  and use soft
magnetic composites material in the core can optimized the performance of the
motor together with appropriate mechanism in controlling the field excitation of the
stator.  Although the study also stated about sensor assemble to keep the shaft in-
place. Thus, for machine optimization, the field excitation, rotor magnet
arrangement, rotor core material, and maglev technology are some of the
parameters to analyze in order to design an optimal AFPMM.
What idea did come out from your mind? What is motivating about your
idea?

This study thought me about applying its design for an HVAC system. Since the rotor
magnets can be designed in a Halbach arrangement with skewed angle. During
discharge mode, the FESS must be not in a vaccum in order to provide ventilation. In
charging and standby mode, the FESS must be in a vacumm in order to avoid air
resistance and maximize the kinetic energy of the flywheel. However, I have been
thinking to keep the if the maglev is always engaged since the levitation is
dependent to the excitation field.
