REFLECTION

Community Health Nursing on our country is a challenging one simply because a lot
of people don't have access to health care services because they are far from the
city or areas where in community health center are located. You have to be patient
for health teaching, speaking on their mother language is much better and create an
example situation related to their community for them to visualize and understand
more what you are implying to teach on them.
Moreover, according to what we have discussed, I can foresee that being a nurse in
a public health facility is a stressful, tired, and energy consuming because you are
dealing with a greater volume of patient. We don't have the right not to accept patient
even the hospital is full already, thus we nurses need to be resourceful in finding a
place where the patient can stay for a while. Therefore, it is stressful yet fulfilling
when you see some of your patient saying thank you, appreciating all your works for
them.
School Health Nursing, I think it is a less stressful, more rewarding in a sense that
students are more appreciative and kinder most especially if they are in the clinic
frequently. You need to be tough for them in following rules and regulations in the
clinic at the same be open in a way that they can approach you whenever they have
question, concerns, or problems that they need to open up.
Occupational Safety and Health Nursing, I believe this setting is more on company or
corporate settings, more paperwork’s to do, regular health teaching is needed, most
of the time you cater a large volume of employees. Thus, it’s also a bit stressful
because you are dealing with different employees, boss, with different personalities,
different needs, and different type of leadership. You have to be a team player to
become a good occupational safety and health nursing. Because you will also be
working with different department. Be versatile yet strict enough to set rules on the
employees going in and out in the clinic. Setting boundaries is also important.
