AVIATION HIGH SCHOOL - FedEx 727-100 Donation

Aviation High School Annex at JFK Airport receives donated 727 Cargo Jet from
FedEx Express.

A recently retired FedEx Express aircraft has now found a new home at Aviation High
School, Annex, John F. Kennedy International Airport.

FedEx Express, the world's largest express transportation company, has donated the
Boeing 727-100 freighter to provide hands-on educational experiences for the students of the
aircraft maintenance technic ian program.

Making its final flight, the 727-100 arrived at J.F.K. International Airport on December 1,
2003, said Al Graser, Airport General Manager.

Before its final flight to J.F.K./Aviation H.S. Annex, the aircraft provided more than 24
years of service to FedEx transporting packages to destinations throughout the U.S.

The donation of the 727-100 to Aviation High School, creates an opportunity for students
in the airframe and powerplant program to have the adva ntage of hands-on, real world
experience in aircraft maintenance technology. These aspiring aircraft maintenance technicians,
who typically only receive training on small aircraft, will benefit greatly from exposure to
complex aircraft systems training. Students will have the opportunity to operate and maintain
the aircraft's engines, electrical systems, avionics, and hydraulic components.

"FedEx Express is proud of its commitment to the communities we serve and in which
our employees live and work. The donation of this FedEx 727-100 is just one example of the
many ways FedEx supports educational endeavors," said David Sutton, assistant general
manager, FedEx Aircraft Acquisitions and Sales. "We firmly believe that colleges and
programs, such as the one at Aviation High School, are producing outstanding graduates who
will soon become the workforce of tomorrow."

Another donation to Aviation High School was a 747 (JT-9D) turbo fan engine,
which will now give students an insight to modern day engine technology. The engine
was donated by Ahmad Zamany, Senior Director of Technical Operations, of Polar Air
Cargo. Polar Air Cargo will be donating two more engines in the near future. It is
partnerships like Federal Express and Polar Air Cargo that make Aviation High school
students of today into aviation maintenance technicians of tomorrow. For further
