Enumerate or list at least three contribution or practices from Friedrich Froebel

regarding early education that are still in effect today..What do you think Froebel
would say about the kindergarten today?

1. His belief in “self-activity” and “Play”

- Effective learning requires practical/execution/experience. Just like in my

area, Music will not be learned by just talking to my students and telling
them things they need to learn. The value of learning will just sink if I keep
on talking without letting them experience the things I’m teaching them
just like the steady beat. I can’t just say “it’s like a heartbeat” they have to
experience it, feel the beat. Students/children must be engaged in “self-
activity” for their own discoveries and learnings as we (teachers/parents)
guide them.

- Those fundamental forms from Froebel are still in effect today and many
schools are practicing it.

2. “Gifts”

- These are the toys/devices that were designed for play, stimulating learning
through play. This is amazing and some schools have these devices in
today’s era.

3. Kindergarten

- A solid foundation of children in education, to prepare them for intellectual

learning.

I think Froebel will be very happy and amazed at the updated kindergarten
curriculum that we have today adapted from his own original ideas/works.
