1. Aluminum reacts with iodine in the presence of hot water, to exothermically produce aluminum iodide.
The chemical reaction involved is shown below.
𝑨𝒍(𝒔) + 𝑰𝟐(𝒔) → 𝑨𝒍𝑰𝟑(𝒔)

a. Balance the chemical reaction.

b. Determine the number of moles of AlI3 and I2 when 7.5 mole of Al is used.

2. A 100 grams of methane (CH4) is burned with excess oxygen gas to produce energy. Calculate the amount
(in grams) of O2 needed to burn CH4 completely. Also, calculate the amount (in grams) of CO2 and H2O.
The balanced combustion reaction is shown below.

𝑪𝑯𝟒 + 𝟐𝑶𝟐 → 𝑪𝑶𝟐 + 𝟐𝑯𝟐 𝑶

Molar masses: CH4 = 16 g/mol CO2 = 44 g/mol
O2 = 32 g/mol H2O = 18 g/mol
