INFECTIOUS VARIANTS OF COVID-19, ARRIVED IN

PHILIPPINES. COVID-19 CASES CONTINUE TO INCREASE.
On Monday March 22, 2021, Department of Health (DOH) stated
that more infectious Covid-19 variants such as United Kingdom (B117)
and South Africa (B1351) are now presents in all cities in Metro Manila.
According to Health Under Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire these
variants had help drive the surge of Covid-19 cases in the Capital
Region, but she stressed the public’s non-compliance with health
protocols was still the root cause.
As of March 22, 2021 our country records 223 cases f UK
variant, with 167 recoveries and 6 deaths. Meanwhile, 152 cases of
South African variant have been reported, with 86 recoveries and 4
deaths. Majority of the cases of these variants are from Metro Manila.

PHILIPPINE IS NOW DEALING WITH NEW COVID19
VARIANT THAT WAS FIRST DISCOVERED IN THE
COUNTRY.
According to the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed that a
new coronavirus variant called P.3 has been traced to the country but
stressed that there’s not enough evidence to say whether it is cause for
concern.

In its statement on March 13, 2021, the Department of Health

(DOH) said there are now 98 Covid-19 cases of the P.3 variant in the
country, following the recent detection of 13 more.
