Students need to consider how culture affecting doing business in targeted country
Jordan has cultural characteristics that are not much different from Middle Eastern culture. The
Muslim majority population upholds religious values. A high work culture and thick with
traditional elements makes Jordan a business prospect for investors. This country is famous for
its creative industry which has achievements and attractive tourist destinations. Culture greatly
affects business in the country. Culture based on Islamic law is a guide for business people.
Business people must obey the rules and ethics in the country, such as not being allowed to
wear revealing clothes, even women's arms and legs need to be covered as a symbol of
modesty.
2. Students need to consider consumer attitudes toward country-of-origin effect (eg. Made in
Japan, made in China, etc.)
Jordanian society respects the regional culture and the religion of Islam in general. The country
is open to imported products from abroad. They do not see product skepticism by country of
origin. Product acceptance in accordance with the domestic culture of courtesy is well received.
Indonesian products are well received in the country, especially natural products. Cooperation
between the two countries is getting closer, especially in the field of export-import of natural
resources.
