Pattern for DROPS 115-34

PATTERN:
See diagram M.1. Diagram shows the pattern from RS.

PATTERN TIP:
On row 11 and 27 in diagram the cable pattern is divided at the beg and at the end
of repeat. Therefore K the first 2 sts on round, slip the last 2 sts on round on cable
needle in front of piece and then continue pattern diagram.
On all other rounds, work cable pattern on the last 2 sts in repeat with the first 2
sts in next repeat.
HEEL DECREASES:
Row 1 (= RS): Work row until 7-8-9 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K1, psso,
turn piece.
Row 2 (= WS): Work row until 7-8-9 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P1, psso,
turn piece.
Row 3: Work row until 6-7-8 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K1, psso, turn piece.
Row 4: Work row until 6-7-8 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P1, psso, turn piece.
Continue dec like this with 1 less st before each dec until there are 14-15-16 sts on
needle.

--------------------------------------------------------

SOCK:
Cast on 72-80-88 sts on DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES size 2.5 mm with Alpaca. K 1
round. Insert a marker at beg of round. Continue in rib as follows: P1, * K2, P2 *,
repeat from *-* and finish with K2 and P1 (mid back = between 2P sts). Continue
like this until rib measures approx 5 cm. Work next round as follows: P1, 1 YO, *
K2, P2, K2, 1 YO, P2, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* and finish with K2, P2, K2, 1 YO and
P1 = 90-100-110 sts. Work 1 round with K over K and P over P - P all YO into back
of loop to avoid holes.
Continue in M.1 – see PATTERN TIP!
After 1 vertical repeat of M.1 work next round as follows:
P2 tog, * K2, P2, K2, P2 tog, P2 tog *, repeat from *-* and finish with K2, P2, K2
and P2 tog = 72-80-88 sts.
Now continue in rib as before.
When piece measures 18-19-20 cm dec 1 st in every other P-section and when
piece measures 23-24-25 cm dec 1 st in remaining P-sections = 54-60-66 sts. Now
move marker so that round beg with K2. Continue in rib until piece measures 25-
26-27 cm.
Keep the first 26-29-32 sts on needle for heel and slip the remaining 28-31-34 sts
on a stitch holder (= mid upper foot).
Now work rib back and forth on the 26-29-32 heel sts for 5-5.5-6 cm (i.e. * K2, P1
*, repeat from *-* and finish with K2). Insert a marker. Continue in stocking st and
dec for heel - see HEEL DECREASES.
After HEEL DECREASES pick up 13-14-16 sts each side of heel and slip the 28-31-
34 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 68-74-82 sts. Continue in rib as before
on the 28-31-34 sts on upper foot (i.e. * P1, K2 *, repeat from *-* and finish with
P1) and stocking st under foot. AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st each side. Dec as
follows before the 28-31-34 sts on upper foot: K2 tog into back of loop. Dec as
follows after the 28-31-34 sts on upper foot: K2 tog. Dec on every other round a
total of 7-7-8 times = 54-60-66 sts.
Continue until piece measures 18-19-21 cm (= 4-5-6 cm remain) from marker on
heel. Insert 1 marker each side of foot, i.e. 28-31-34 sts on upper foot and 26-29-
32 sts under foot. Continue in stocking st on all sts, AT THE SAME TIME dec for toes
on each side of both markers (= 4 dec per round) as follows: K tog the 2 sts before
marker and K tog into back of loop the 2 sts after marker. Repeat the dec on every
other round a total of 4-6-8 times and then on every round a total of 6-5-4 times =
14-16-18 sts. Now K2 tog across the round = 7-8-9 sts left. Cut the thread, pull
through remaining sts and fasten.
