MULTI-GRADE

In Activity 4.1

Give 2 function and role of a multi- grade teacher that is not


mentioned above. Include a short explanation each.

1. As a Mediator
A teacher acts as a mediator between the existing levels
which she/he is handling, to avoid conflict between
students.
2. As a Guide
A multi-grade teacher acts as a guide for the students
whether it be in academic or social aspect especially that
students are not of the same age and level.

Suggest 1 activity for evaluation and assessment tools and their
short description for every one of the above categories.

1. ENTRANCE TEST
In entrance exams, facilitators may conduct a short activity
of “FUN-FACT” quiz to stimulate the minds of the
examinees and to lessen nervousness.
2. REGULAR ASSESSMENT
For regular assessments, students can be given one-minute
papers on a specific subject matter to extract the most
retained topic of the learners minds.
3. PERIODIC ASSESSMENT
For periodic assessment, homework which will allow the
students to sum up what they have learned can be given to
them.
4. SELF-ASSESSMENT and PEER-ASSESSMENT
Pairing the students and giving them an activity which will
enable them to exchange ideas can be done during self-
assessment and peer-assessment.
