Daily Swallow Program

Morning
1. Mendelsohn Exercise: 10 reps for x2 sets

Put your fingers over the bulge at the front of your throat (this is your
voice box). Swallow and feel the Adam’s apple lift and lower while you
swallow. Now, swallow and hold the Adam’s apple up for at least three
seconds by squeezing your throat muscles.

2. Respiratory Breather: 10 reps for x2 sets on level 1

Afternoon
1. Strong Swallow: 10 reps for x2 sets

Swallow your saliva HARD. Pretend you’re swallowing a whole grape.

2. Respiratory Breather: 10 reps for x2 sets on level 1

Night
1. Chin tuck with resistance: 10 reps for x2 sets

While upright, place a rolled-up hand towel under your chin, pressed
lightly against your neck. Press your chin down into the towel, keep
your chin straight, and hold for up to 30 seconds. Relax for 30
seconds. Repeat.

2. Oral Motor Exerciser Tool: 5-10 minutes for lip / tongue
