Dear Madam/Sir,

I am writing about the article on culture and traditions which appeared on your newspaper last
Monday. It raised some basic issues which I feel very strongly about and I think all your readers
need to consider them carefully.

At the beginning of the article, the writer appears to claim that different countries are becoming
more alike because of the modern condition that we dispose of. I am afraid I hardly disagree. I
think that every country has its own traditions (like specific food, festivals, holidays) and is
transmitting them from generation to generation.

In my opinion, a country is just like an onion; the innermost skin is culture. All countries have
their own unique cultures to live by, which means that people who have grown up in different
places will have different ways of expressing themselves.

Furthermore, I consider the cheap, fast air travel an opportunity for us to discover the allure of
each country. This way we can learn from them and help them preserve their traditions. What is
more, in this modern century has to communicate with other countries more than ever. So, we
must understand the differences in different countries’ culture well, only this way, we can get
along with each other in peace.

In conclusion, I want to say that it is inaccurate to suggest that all countries are the same. Each
country has its own culture, and there are many differences between different countries in
culture. Those differences make our world a more colorful and exciting place to live.

Sincerely,

Balan Anca
