​(1955-Present)
After WW2, Austria was occupied like
Germany by the USSR, USA, UK and France.
In 1955, the 2nd Austrian Republic was a
democracy that was banned from joining
bodies such as NATO.

Through the Cold War, Austria maintained its

neutrality. However, in a war between NATO
and the Warsaw Pact, Austria would have been
inevitably involved.

Austria as a landlocked country had no navy,

but did have an Air Force, Land Force, river
patrol boats, militias and reserves. Much of
the army were conscripts.
