ALBANIAN

EQUIPMENT
The Albanian People’s Army
was the main military force of
communist Albania. This army
mainly used a collection of
Soviet, Yugoslav, Chinese and home-grown
gear.

On display is a Soviet-made
KZS camouflage suit, and an
Albanian P-84 SMG. These
were both in service until the
fall of communism in Albania.

Albania’s army has a strange

story. It suffered 4 waves of
political purges, in 1966 ranks
were abolished and some of
it’s best equipment was
donated (not even sold) by
allied states. There wasn’t
even a standard issue weapon until 1988.
