A society is not only a group of people living together in a
definite territory but it is a social system of long established relationships which people in it recognize and follow a certain way of life. The territory occupied by a society is recognized and the people have a sense of belonging to it. In composition human societies are com posed of men, women and children. Societal groupings are generally large scale, the size being determined by whether the society is community, state, nation or international in nature. What is important is that within human society are different groupings consist ing of small numbers of people A society, or a human society, is a group of people involved with each other through persistent relations, or a large social grouping sharing the same geographical or social territory, typically subject to the same political authority and dominant cultural expectations.
