application type
Application Type Function

CSSCU It performs SIP protocol processing, which work in active/standby mode.

CSBSU It terminates TCP/SCTP connections, which work in load-sharing mode.

CSDPU It dispatch the IP packets, which work in active/standby mode.

CSDSU This type of application is an integration of the DPU and BSU modules.

CSISU A board of this application type can perform all the functions of the CSCF.

CSCDB It is the central database process of the CSC3300. It maintains the global data
and subscriber distribution data of the system.

 Application type is the set of processes, The application type limits

the max numbers of the processes.

 One board can configure only one application type.

The ME and NE

 ME (Managed Element) & NE

 CGP could manage the following ME:
 HSS,CSCF,ATS,CCF……

 ME CSCF could include the following NE:

– Proxy-call session control function (P-CSCF)

– Interrogating-call session control function (I-CSCF)

– Serving-call session control function (S-CSCF)

– Multimedia resource function controller (MRFC)

– Interconnection Border Control Function (IBCF)

Local Domain
 Local Domain: the local domain identifies the carrier to
which the equipment belongs , and it is used to

Relationship Between Local
Domain and Trust Domain
Trust domain
 A local domain is a part of a trust
domain. So the data configured in the
Local domain
local domain data table belongs to the
trust domain data table by default.

 For data configuration:

 The domain name or IP address segment used by the P/I/S-CSCF
must be configured in the local domain data table.

 The domain name or IP address segment of UE s and MEs (such as

the MRFC and MGCF) interworking with the P/I/S-CSCF must be
configured in the trust domain data

The Syntax of Regular Expression
 Symbol
 ^: matches the beginning of a line, indicating the start of the source
number.

 $: matches the end of a line, indicating the end of the source number.

 [03]: indicates one digit from 0 and 3.

 [0-9]{3}: matches three digits. The value range of the three digits is 0–9.
That is, a three-digit number (for example, any number falling into the
value range of 000–999) is matched.

 \\1: The first “\” symbol indicates the escape character. The following
“\1” symbol indicates the contents of the sub-expression inside the
first left parentheses, that is, ([03][0-9]{3}).

Interworking with CS
 The HSX network interworks with the CS domain through the
BGCF and the MGCF.
 BGCF: selects the entry to the CS domain

 MGCF: The signaling gateway between HSX and CS network.

 Translate ISUP or BICC protocol of CS and SIP protocol of HSX

 Controls the media channels in the IM-MGW.

 DNS/ENUM:
