GREAT EXPLORERS While many people think Christopher Columbus is the greatest explorer of alltime, there are many other great explorers who travelled to distant lands and brought back interesting new discoveries to their own countries. Other explorers followed Columbus, including Hernan Cortez. Cortez was born in the Spanish town of Medellin and studied law, However, he didn’t become a lawyer but decided tojoin the army, where he was chosen to lead a military expedition into Mexico.
