The Acceptability of Covid-19 Vaccine Among the Identified Indigenous Senior Citizens in

Isabela City, Basilan Province

On 30 January 2020, the Philippine Department of Health reported the first case of COVID-19 in

the country with a 38-year-old female Chinese national. On 7 March, the first local transmission

of COVID-19 was confirmed. And by that time WHO is working closely with the Department of

Health in responding to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Metro Manila CNN Philippines, June 29 reported Isabela City in Basilan province confirmed its

first COVID-19 case on Monday.

Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman said the patient was among more than 50 locally stranded

individuals who arrived on June 18, and was immediately brought to the coronavirus isolation

facility at the Begang National High School to undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine.

According to the city government, the patient showed symptoms about two days ago, prompting

them to subject her to COVID-19 testing, which turned out to be positive. Local health

authorities said the patient is currently in stable condition at the Cabunbata COVID-19

quarantine facility.
