Zoos are sometimes seen as necessary but not poor alternatives to a natural

environment . Discuss some of the arguments for and/or against keeping animals in zoos
It is popularly believed that a zoo is a protected place that repeats the natural
environment for an animal where it is always under supervision . In my opinion , the zoo is a
great place for keeping animals , it is a place where they are provided with all the conditions
. There are some main reasons for this .
Firstly , the zoo is a tourist place where people can come and look at different
animals for fun . They can see rare species of animals , learn more about them .
Furthermore, from my own experience I can say that a zoo is a place where you can spend
time with your family , get great emotions and leave warm memories . As a result, zoos are a
good idea to surprise your family , children and friends .
Secondly , the zoo is needed for animals , but not for all , animals that are
endangered have priority . Rare species of animals are placed in zoos and for such animals
as bears or wolves , the best habitat is nature . For example , Northern White Rhino , two
females of the subspecies survive in captivity , while the last remaining male died in 2018 ,
Amur Leopard , in a decade , their population has risen to 100 from a population of just two
dozen wild individual cats . These two species are victims of poaching , which is the biggest
threat in the animal world . Thus zoos are very important places for animals .
In conclusion , I can affirm that people are fighting for the lives of animals every day.
Thanks to this we can stop the extinction of animals forever .
