My shoulders are stooped with the burden of family, and yet I fly high. I am the rugged rocky foundation of society. My surface is ugly, muddy, and yet I keep the minute rocks above me polished. My edges are worn away by rain and by wind, and yet I keep the tiny pebbles above me safe. I am slaughtered at the mercy of those above me.
