A Fluctuation: Internalizing the Sexual Objectification within College Students

The article entitled, “Gender Differences in Experiences with Sexual Objectification”, is

all about sexual objectification occurring among men especially in the case of women. The
research study mainly focuses on the commonality especially the differences happening towards
dealing sexual objectification that upraises from different life interactions and implications.

The article comprises of 58 male and 26 female participants which belongs to different
race and nationality that exhibits different decisions that helps to create a standardize and
substantial related ideas. The research instrument that was being utilized, implicates a more
common result that helps to build up the foundation and credibility of the conduct of the study.
The author collected demographic information of participants and used Interpersonal Sexual
Objectification Scale to widen her understanding towards the topic and create a reliable ideas
where other people can rely or perceive into, in terms of experiencing objectification and to
quantify the personal experiences of the person that was being objectified. The ISOS
instrument provide results which shows the more common cases of objectification happening to
women especially in their collegiate years.

The evident of biases is very common among generating ideas of sexual objectification
among students belonging or having a collegiate degree. The results that were being discussed
to people which probably had contradictions between genders and the researcher decide to
conclude that her results are approximate and claim factual information based on her gathered
results, it can be a conflict to the opposing gender which the researcher found from her
research study as the least affected individual wherein it is not. It does not mean that if the
research implicates a more prominent and frequent results or answers it can be the factor to
decide or conclude something that is being tackled, results can be subjective sometimes
wherein it needs a thorough observation and proper conduct of the research study to perceive
or implicate a more substantial results that can be a head start for every researcher to
thoroughly concludes the claim results of the research study. Exposure to sexually Objectifying
images of men and women is becoming increasingly common in the United States, serve as an
instrument to sell products and attract the attention of viewers. One advantage of this article is
that, the author formulate and create key points to improve or to advise the future researchers
or their successors with common ideas and thoughts. However, just like how the author pointed
some limitations, the numbers of male and female participants are not equal. Also, the author
did not mention some factors or the reason why it is mostly women who is sexually objectified
if the respondents were unequal which cannot stand or build up foundations of ideas in creating
more frequent and common results which can create conclusions out from the gathered results
of the study.

information for individuals either male or female who experienced sexual objectification.
