TECHNICISES FOR BAND consists of a series of key-related scales, arpeggios, interval and rhythm studies, and chorale exercises arranged in four parts. The music is written in “score” form, so you can see all the parts. Of course, you will only playone part (A, B, C, or D) ata time. Part of the fun of TECHMICISES FOR BANDis learning all four parts and then “putting the pieces together” to hear what it sounds like - sort of like a musical puzzle. Here area few TECHNICISE tips: ~ Learn the “A” part first. It's usually the easiest. + if possible, practice with one, two, or three other players to help you get used to hearing all four parts, not justthe one you are playing, ~ Start slowly and gradually develop speed. Don't try to play everything fast the first time. + Try playing the TECHMICISESwith different articulations and dynamics to see how that affects both the sound and the level of difficulty.
