540 Diploma Interactive Media-Film and Photography

Brief: Project 2
Produce a carefully planned brief with a clear structure showing a time plan, and
recognition of deadlines.

In project two I will be working on film. I am interested in this because I would

like to work more on moving images, I enjoyed using stop motion in the last
project so I may decide to include that again. The theme I will be working
towards will be creating fictional realities e.g., a dystopia.
I want to photograph some outcomes and animate others so I can explore the
theme over different mediums.

I will develop my ideas with Microsoft PowerPoint. I will produce Mind maps for
planning each outcome and will use mood boards as inspiration. These image
and video references will be sourced from Pinterest or YouTube. As part of my
research, I will look at.

I will also examine techniques I could use, film inspiration and tips to facilitate
the making of my outcomes.

The samples I will be producing will be photographs and screen shots of the
videos I will produce. The samples may show a range of different composition
and visuals depending on which sample works best for the outcome. I will use
these to see what worked well and what didn’t work well so I can improve the
errors.

I will make a list and plan the techniques I would like to experiment and any
materials I may use for example I may use modelling clay.

I will manage my project by making a timetable which will organise when I will
be working on specific aspects of my project e.g., when I will film, when I will edit
etc. I will also make sure to evaluate my work to make sure my work improves
progressively as the project continues.

The target audience would be people who enjoy short films or animation. For
some of my outcomes I will use different styles of animation.

I will be aiming for four outcomes. This could be less depending on how long the
videos I will produce are. My outcomes will be a range of animation, film and
photography.

The expected costs may come from materials I do not own. I will make an
estimation of how much each shoot may cost when doing my research and
planning.
