BENEDICTO CABRERA Sabel In Blue
Benedicto Reyes Cabrera, better known as "BenCab", is a Filipino painter and was awarded
National Artist of the Philippines for Visual Arts in 2006. He has been noted as "arguably the best-selling
painter of his generation of Filipino artists. Sabel in blue is a major subject that recurs through BenCab’s
works through the decades, inspired by a real-life scavenger, he photographed and sketched in 1965,
the Sabel image has become the artists vehicle for the transmission of intensely emotional moods.
When pushed to the limits of abstraction, the Sabel image serves as a fertile ground for the investigation
of shape and structure.

ANGELO BAROVIER VENETIAN CRYSTAL

Angelo Barovier was an Italian glass artist. Raised in a family with a long
tradition of glass working, Barovier was certainly the best-known member and
significant for uniting the knowledge passed down for generations as an artist and
a scientist. Another testimony to the high esteem for Barovier is the decree of
Venetian Republic in around 1455 that granted him the exclusive rights to
production of clean glass, produced by a technique he developed, which he called
crystal glass or Venetian crystal. Lead glass, commonly called crystal, is a variety
of glass in which lead replaces the calcium content of a typical potash glass. Lead
glass is often desirable for a variety of uses due to its clarity.
