How does it work?

BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council)

qualifications are awarded by the UK's largest body
Pearson that offers qualifications such as Edexcel,
LCCI etc. All Higher National Diploma (HND) and
Higher National Certificate (HNC) programme(s) are
accredited by BTEC, ATHE, SQA, QISAN, ASIC or
equivalent bodies with the relevant examination
boards in the UK.

An HNC (Higher National Certificate) is a one-year

study plan, equivalent to the first year of any
university in the UK. An HND (Higher National
Diploma) is a two-year study plan, equivalent to the
two years of any university in the UK. A substantial
number of the UK universities provide fast-track
progression to the THIRD and FINAL YEAR of a
BACHELORS DEGREE PROGRAMME.
