TO WIN OR NOT TO WIN?

There was a time, when people ran into the issue concerning winning in sports:
whether it leads the field, or does not. In general, somebody thinks that this topic is
true and just a few put the emphasis not on winning. The objective of this essay is to
find out, what the limits on this prominence are.
There are several arguments supporting this topic. First of all, it is popularly
believed, that the goal of sport is to be extraordinarily triumphant, because in today`s
society the objective is to run away with the game, not to throw in the towel.
Moreover, there are some people thinking that since we are small we must learn to
lead the field and finally, nowadays, we can see sports such as football, tennis or
motor racing, where the game plan is if you are ahead, you can win.
In fact, there are disagreements as well. Many people consider sport to be
better when it is not only taught to win. For instance, we learn values as in martial
arts where crucial thing is that the athlete is not a bad sport but a self-confident man.
These sports have been working on such values for many years. In particular, yoga
has never been about winning.
Finally, somebody also supports another point of view - the objective should be
about playing the ball, improving our health, skills and being more relaxed.
In conclusion, there are several for and against arguments on the emphasis on
winning in sports today. On balance, we can state that sport is not only about winning
but also about teamwork, developing our abilities, learning how to lose and staying
healthy.
