number concepts. With counting, it is possible to assign a value to a specific item in a group.
Moreover, just doing the basic essentials from day to day life is dependent on a person’s ability
to count or to do math.
2. What is the first concept of math that appeared in its history? *

just a human trait, other animals are able to count as well and evidence for human counting
goes back to prehistoric times with check marks made in bones.
3. It is the branch of mathematics that deals more on the abstractness of math. *
 Pure mathematics since it involves the study of mathematics for its own sake. However the
crossover between the two has gone to solve real world problems. It is interesting how often
something so abstract ends up being really useful. Moreover pure mathematics on its own is still
a very valuable thing to do because it can be fascinating and on its own can have a real beauty
and elegance that almost becomes like art.
4. What is mathematics? *
 Mathematics is the field of study that doesn’t only involve numbers, shapes, patterns, and

creatively. Moreover, mathematics is also ubiquitous as it’s patterns and ratios are even found
in nature.
5. Is Mathematics invented or discovered? (Explain your answer) *
 Mathematics is an intricate combination of invention and discoveries because of the fact that
humans were able to invent various mathematical concepts through abstract from the nature
itself that surrounds them and overtime humans were able to discover the connections between
the concepts that were invented leading to solve real world problems.

If I am a (profession/career), math is important to me because

As a future nurse, the standards of care to be provided to the patient would greatly depend on
how proficient I am in the field of mathematics because a wrong computation of the dosage of
a certain medication would really pose a risk on the patient’s health. With a sound knowledge
in Mathematics, I can be able to provide the optimum care or treatment to alleviate the
condition of my patients.
