White Bear

White Bear is an episode of a series called Black Mirror. It is about a girl who
wakes up confused and wondering who she is and what is happening. She keeps on
wandering to solve and answer the questions in her mind. She noticed that the people
outside are not helping her but are only watching and recording her. As her journey for
discovering the truth goes on, she found out that the people were filming her because
she just took a video while her fiancé murders the poor little girl. She always wakes up
confused because the people are erasing her memory at the end of the day. That
incident continuously happening over and over again.

In my opinion, the episode was great. It is not a typical storyline that you can
predict what will happen next. Also, the plot twist was unpredictable. I did not know that
in the end, she will be her own antagonist in the story. I also like the scene wherein they
show the ‘behind the scenes’ and planning what will happen if they encounter the girl.
Moreover, the episode wakes up my curiosity. It drove me to listen and watch every
single word and actions that the protagonist will do. However, the storyline was
confusing. The scene wherein the people are explaining why they are doing that to her.
I really think that the punishment was too hard. We all know that she watched and
recorded as someone was suffering. Now, people watch and record her suffering for
revenge but how are they different from her? They are just like her.

The main lesson here is the golden rule saying “Do not do unto others what you
don’t want others do unto you.” However, a wrong act cannot be corrected by another
wrong act. We must think of a rightful punishment to the sinner because they are also
human that commits mistakes.
