Our today`s guest is Kelly White- the editor of the
tabloid newspaper Woman`s Life. Good evening Mrs.White. Kelly: Good evening! Pleasure to be here. Interviewer: How do you think, what is the role of newspapers in society? Kelly: I think nowadays generation can`t do without newspapers. They provide the community with the discussion of unbiased issues, hard-hitting topics and well-researched problems and make the reader at ease by entertaining (crosswords, puzzles, comics). Interviewer: By this we mean, topical newspapers are consumer-oriented, aren`t they? Kelly: Definitely! Interviewer: Well, how do you think, may the newspapers include irrelevant information? Kelly: Sure! There are many features full of platitude and unrecycled information burning a hole in my mind. Interviewer: Totally agree with you. We can come across the articles that have appeared in black and white off the cuff and fell through. Ok. Tell us more about the newspaper and what makes it different from others on the market? Kelly: Our newspaper has made a name for itself by generating story ideas, assigning stories to freelancers and regular contributors, writing feature stories and department columns, conducting celebrity interviews, editing all copy, overseeing professional photo shoots. Moreover, we have never fallen behind with the work, unlike the others. Interviewer: Hm, interesting. Well, I know that your publication is living proof of ongoing success. What`s your mission at Woman`s Life? Kelly: We go to any length to boost women`s self esteem, and make them feel powerful and good about themselves. We give them the message that they are all cool, no matter what their height, their shape, their hair color, their eye color. And we challenge their minds. Just because women like things that are pretty, doesn't mean that they're not smart. Interviewer: You really raise tough questions. In some respects, the lack of confidence is widespread among the women. Kelly: Yes, that`s why we try to intone the representatives of a weak gender who harbour their personal feelings to leave the comfort zone and move up to the start. Interviewer: Thank you very much for such a great goal. Many women indeed need such boost of confidence. What about censorship? Can all the opinions be printed in your publication? Do you have any taboo? Kelly: I have nothing against the censorship as it`s used to impose moral values on society. Concerning the taboo, I will never publish the article including the racism towards the women. Interviewer: That problem is increasingly popular nowadays and you principles are really relevant and respectable. What your final advice to your readers? Kelly: They should read the newspapers stay in tune with current problems. Don`t discard this source of information because sooner or later it will definitely come in handy. Interviewer: Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us today. It was a pleasure to run the interview and I am sure that many our viewers will take it into consideration. Wish you never hit the rock bottom. Looking forward to your next masterpieces. Kelly : Thanks for inviting. Goodbye.
