Technical Query for Pitch Handling and Storage at GEP Are


S.N. NTL Query

All interconnecting pipelines within compressed air station’s


1 battery limit shall remain under Tenderer’s scope of supply (page
No.12 of 241 of PDF), we are unable to understand, please clarify.

Which type of spillage pit shall be considered (i.e. RCC with tiles
or carbon steel tank with 2 m3 capacity is sufficient)? Is thermic
2 fluid heating is required? After spillage the pitch material will not
solidify or how the fluidity from floor to tank. Pit operation shall
consider manually or automatic based on level.

3 What kind of moisture separators is required on tank?

Do we require control system in the thermic fluid line to maintain


4 constant temp. of vessel/tank or with constant temperature of
thermic fluid system continuously flow through tank coils.

What kind of fire hydrant system should be considered in the


5 HOB and Pitch Area, Dry or wet?

6 What is stand for HOB system…is it Thermic fluid system?

7 Please provide HOB system specification.

8 Please provide of Pitch buffer tank specification.


9 What is the purpose of return pump?

10 What will be the equipment MOC?

11 What will be the MOC of pitch handling pipe lines?

12 What will be LDO tank specification?

13 Two HOB systems shown in layout, please clarify?

14 Two stack shown in the layout? Please explain?


6 nos. pitch pump shown in layout and in Flow diagram, it is 5
15 nos. (2 nos. Pitch transfer pumps, 2 nos. Pitch unloading pumps, 1
nos. pitch return pump) please clarify?

Please explain wet dust/fume collection system, how far is this


installation i.e. scrubber? Or we need to install if yes then what
16 kind of scrubber is require for this system. As per flow diagram
some gases is coming from Erich mixer, what will be the quantity
and composition?

What will be the physical properties of Pitch fluid like specific

heat to select the thermic fluid system?
What will be solid pitch physical properties like particle size, bulk

density etc.?
19 What will be EOT capacity?

As per flow diagram limpet coil shown on pitch metler vessel,

pitch storage tank and jacket on buffer tank. Please confirm.

Client to provide all battery limit co-ordinate/battery limit point.


21 Are utilities will provide with isolation valve at battery limit or we
need to consider it.
Material & Energy balance with temp. & pressure shall be

Commissioning and running spares to be provided for two (2)
24 years normal working of each equipment as recommended by
manufacturer.

Consumable, chemicals and other free issue materials like water,


25 Erection power supply etc. will be provided by the client at
battery limit of project to NTL. Client to confirm.
26 Civil work is not in our scope of NTL, Please confirm.

Type of Electrical switch gear selection for PMCC panel &


27 distribution panel will finalised during detailed engineering
protection shall be comply as per tender specification.

All junction and motor control boxes shall be flame proof as per
28 electrical Indian standard codes.

Level transmitters shall be Radar type intrinsically safety not


29 consideration of explosion proof for pitch storage tanks, pitch
melting vessels and buffer tank. Please confirm

Instead of Compressed Air Station, it is to be read as pitch handling


and storage premises . However, thermic fluid lines are not in scope
of this vendor
