Dengue fever is one of the most common mosquito-borne viral diseases. Most dengue
Fever cases occur in the tropical and sub-tropical areas of the world and they break out during the
rainy season. The fever is transmitted to humans through the bites of striped Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes
that have previous bitten a person with dengue virus in their blood. The virus is not contagious and does
not spread directly from a person to another. It can only spread through the bite of an infected mosquito.
After being bitten by a mosquito carrying the virus, the incubation period ranges from three to
fifteen days before the symptoms of dengue appear. Some of the dengue fever symptoms typically
include high fever, severe headache and chills. Most people who suffer dengue fever will recover
completely within two weeks but there is still no vaccine to stop the dengue viral at this moment. Thus,
the best measure is to combat these mosquitoes by eliminating their breeding grounds. Get rid of stagnant
water. Discard items that can collect rainwater properly and cover the containers which are used to store
water inside or outside of the house.
