1, Incelebration of the 121* Philippine Civil Service Month, the Department of Environment
and Natural Resources (DENR)-Provincial Environmental Office (PENRO) Davao del
Norte will have a Digital Photography Contest on September 28, 2021. It is open to all
high school students from public and private schools of Davao del Norte. The photography
contest will exhibit “good practices of the youth in combating improper solid waste
management specifically the proliferation of unmanaged medical wastes”.
2. With this, all districts shall submit 1-2 entries on or before September 24, 2021 (|
PM) via email to penrodavaodelnorteadenr.gov.ph, Please refer to the attached guidelines
for the detailed information. Should you have queries, you may contact Jillian April A. Casal
(Division YES-O Coordinator).
3. This office reiterates the strict observance of the IATF health protocols at all times. In
adherence to all policies, everyone is encouraged to continuously support and value equality
and diversity within the Department.

Guidelines/Mechanics:
Photography Contest Theme:
The theme for this photo contest is adapted from the theme of this year’s 121* Philippine
Civil Service Anniversary whichis, “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing
Agile and Future-Ready Servant Heroes.”
‘The photo must show how the youth manages their solid wastes specifically the waste
associated to COVID-19 pandemic, which is a perfect example and congruent to this year’s
theme: “Transforming public service in the next decade: honing agile and future-ready servant
heroes.”
Participants
1. This photo contest is open to all high school students from different public and private
schools in Davao del Norte, including youth organizations in the provinee.
2. Each school per municipality/city in Davao del Norte is allowed only one (1)
representative/participant.
3. Contestants will be required to provide the following information upon submission of
a) Full Name of Participant and céach,
b) Data of Birth

f) Photo Title
8) Photo Caption (1-2 sentences exiplaining/describing the photograph and its
relevance tothe theme)

‘Submission of Entries.
1. Each contestant/representative must submit only one (1) photo entry.
Entry must be the contestant's original work.
3. Entry must not have been awarded in any other photo contests and/or commercially
published whether for news, advertising or otherwise
4. Entries must be submitted on or before September 24, 2021 @ 5:00 PM to this email

5. Filename of the photo must be in the format “SURNAME_FIRSTNAME_SCHOOL/
ORGANIZATION_PHOTO TITLE,” example: DELACRUZ_JUAN_NEW CORELLA NATIONAL
HIGH SCHOOL_FACE MASK.
6. Weill only accept entries submitted through email. Other means of submission will be
automatically disqualified.
7. The contest committee shall have no liability for delayed, corrupted or lost entries.
8 All participants, upon submission the of entry, grants DENR the right to use the
submitted entry for print/online publication, presentations, websites, and social media
without royalty, fee or other compensation payable to the contestant by reason of suchIV. Photo image/Requirements
1. Photos must be taken within Davao del Norte.
ONLY 2021 PHOTO ENTRIES ARE ALLOWED.
3. Photos must be an original material taken by the photographer and should not include
watermarks, signatures, frames, data and/or time stamp, any other markings on the
photo and any copyrighted material.
4. Photos must not contain violence, nudity or obscenity.
5. Only photos taken by digital cameras are allowed. Camera phones are also allowed.
6. Photos taken by film camera, fisheye lens, and stitched panoramas are not eligible, Post
processing of the image Is limited to cropping and color enhancements, including
shadows and highlights only. Photo manipulation is not allowed.
7. Photos must be in digital form (JPEG format) with at least 30 dpi and a maximum file
size of 10 MB,
V. Criteria for Judging
1. Relevance and Adherence to the Theme (30%)= How well dogs the photo meet the
criteria ofthe category its in.
2. Composition (25%) ~ Well placement of interest in theyphoto, absetice of distracting
elements.
3. Creativity and Originality (25%) ~ Subject matter pictured ina unique way orshown from
an interesting point of view, demonstrated originality, used light in interesting ways.
4. Image/Technical Quality (20%) —In focus, lighting in balance; depth of field considered,
appropriate shutter speed.

First Prize = Php 3,000,00 (with plaque, tiedal, and certificate)
