NOTE: If replacing an existing iX Gateway computer, refer to Section 7.1 on page 48 for instructions to
backup the existing configuration, which can then be restored instead of manually configuring
the new iX Gateway computer.
NOTE: The iX Gateway computer has a LAN (local) IP address for communication with the iX CATs in
the dispensers. The local IP is the 192.168.2.51 default unless otherwise directed by customer.
NOTE: The ASO must contact the customer in order to determine the required network configuration
for DFS-provided equipment. The ASO may also need to contact the customer IT representative
or Managed Network Service Provider (MNSP) to obtain the following required information.
Designated network port(s) on the station network equipment for device connection.

1. Before opening any cartons, count the number of cartons and verify the carton count against the
supplied packing list.
2. Inspect the cartons for damage made during transit.
3. File claim information with the carrier on the bill of lading.
4. Retain cartons suspected of damage for future claim purposes.
5. Remove all equipment from the shipping cartons and carefully inspect for visible damage.
NOTE: Any damage should be brought to the attention of the carrier and claims made immediately.
Return all equipment to the respective cartons for protection until actual installation is made.
Save all cartons until it is certain that return shipments are not required.
1. Place electronic components in an anti-static bag and in the original shipping cartons for return
shipment to the factory.
NOTE: If original shipping cartons are not available use a sturdy cardboard container and suitable
packing materials such as anti-static polyethylene foam or bubble pack, to ensure the
component is firmly packed.
2. Include a Return Parts Tag with the defective component describing the particular problem with
the part.
3. Make sure adequate insurance is provided when returning parts to the factory.
WARNING
If the parts or components arrive at our factory in a damaged condition and it is determined that
the damage is a direct result of inadequate or improper packaging, the damage will not be cov-
ered under the original warranty and the customer or distributor will be held responsible for the
cost of repairs necessary to correct or replace the damaged parts.
Environmental Requirements
Ensure that the iX Gateway computer is located in an area that offers easy access for service and is
situated a minimum of 6 in. away from other equipment cabinets. Orient the iX Gateway computer to

Green Check
(Online)
Red X
(Offline)
NOTE: A red X indicates the fueling point iX CAT is not communicating with iSense on the iX Gateway.
In this case, the most likely problem is an incorrect IP address at the terminal. Perform the
following steps to diagnose the problem.
1. Open a command prompt window by right-clicking the Windows button and selecting Run,
then type cmd and press <Enter>.
2. Type ping, leave a space, and then type the IP address of the iX CAT and press <Enter>.
An example of a successful ping command is shown in Figure 3-16.
• If ping times out (not successful), check the fueling point IP address in the
DMSystemConfigure.xml file at the iX CAT. (This is only valid for blue boards)
• If ping is not successful, the iX Gateway’s IP address may not be correct in the
RDMCommConfig.xml file at the iX CAT. Also:
* Check Ethernet cables and connections.
* Check if there is a green light on the Ethernet switch inside the building. If the green
light is not on, there is no connectivity.
* Be sure there is power to the switch in the dispenser. Do not proceed until all CATs
are online.
.
4. Once communications have been established between iX Gateway and all site devices, call the
Austin Support Center (ASC) at 1-800-289-2963 for validation of the configuration and settings.
