The first thing that was invented is a “Boat /ship” and “Sails”, it helps them fish but also
helps them roam. ‘Boats’ helps them travel and ’Sails’ helps them settle down. ‘’Being sails
the gray-white sea running before winter storm-winds, he Scuds beneath high waves surging
over him’’ (380).

The invention of “Plows”, which is a farming tool mostly used to plant and harvest, and it’s
drawn by horses or oxen, so here we are using animals not just as food but also tools. “After

The third thing that was invented is “Nets”, to help them fish and eat. ‘’Dwelling sea

tame animals. Again, we are using animals as tools. “He masters the beast that beds in the

One of the most important inventions is “Language” also the creation of “speech” is an
invention that helps us form the ‘laws’ and builds a society or a community in which they can
interact and exchange thoughts and knowledge. “He has taught himself speech and thoughts,
swift as the wind; and a temperament for the laws of towns” (400).

The invention of “Houses” helps to escape ‘’Frost-hardened bedding”, which helps to cover
the open sky and the harsh rain. (400).

The invention of “Arrows” can be used when hunting it helps to capture animals and
protecting oneself, and to protect others as well, since it’s regarded as a weapon. “And how to
escape frost-hardened bedding under the open sky and the arrows” (400).

The invention of “Medicine” helps cure sickness. “Yet he has cunningly escaped from
sicknesses that had seemed beyond his devices” (400).
