Q.: WHY THERE IS SOMEBODY

CALLED ZEN MASTER?

A.: A Zen Master is an individual who works on the

spiritual path of realization. He is a Tutor, an Educator
and a Mentor. He is called “master” by others, by his
disciples, students and seekers. You may call him by his
name, or considering him as a professor, or as an
instructor. To be a spiritual master is not a category: it is
a subtle job. It suggests the idea of certain obligations
and compromises. Daniel Medvedov is called Zen
Master since 1991, when he accepted for initiation his
first disciple, Richard Strauss, who is living in Boston,
USA. Soon after, many of his students solicited
initiation in the path of Zen and for now, the numbers of
his disciples are hundreds and hundreds. He is not taking
in account the number of seekers and truly receives
anyone who desires to enter in the spiritual path of
energy. He is a theologian, an artist and a scholar.

His Master Nan Huai Chin is an authority in Zen
matters and belongs to the lay Chinese branch of Zen, a
word related to the Sanskrit DHYANA – Contemplation,
a spiritual activity called in China - CH‘AN and in Japan,
ZEN. Daniel Medvedov received the authority for
teaching and to spread internationally the Zen
Philosophy of Change from HH Master Nan Huai Chin
in Taipei, 1981.

After working some years in Barcelona, Miami, and

Madrid, he is living for now In Wien, where he opened his
school called ENSO ACADEMY. The School is located in
15. RobertHammerlin’gasse, 1.

The KO’AN of the Workshop:

WHAT IS THE WORD FOR THE LUMINOUS

PORTION OF THE DAY?

On occasion of this meeting, I created the

following limerick verses:

THERE WAS A MAN IN THE CITY OF LEEDS

WITH OPEN EYES HE WON’T SEE
SO, IN ORDER TO LOOK AT THEE
HE HAS TO CLOSE HIS EYELIDS . . .
