Jolina intensifies into tropical storm –

An update from the Philippine Atmospheric, geophysical, and Astronomical Services

Administration was given that states that Jolina gathered strength as it moves west northeast
over the Philippine Sea east of western summer

In its 5 p.m. update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services
Administration said Jolina gathered strength as it moved west northwest over the Philippine Sea
east of Eastern Samar.

At 4 p.m., Jolina was spotted 95 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, with maximum
sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness up to 90 kph.

PAGASA said Signal No. 2 was raised over Eastern Samar, the eastern portion of Northern
Samar, and the northeastern portion of Samar.
